The bizkaia:talent relocation service has been identified as a Service Centre in the researchers’ mobility network of the European Commission, EURAXESS. This designation strengthens the innovative service we launched in 2007 with the aim of facilitating professional and social integration for the highly qualified researchers from abroad interested in working in the Historical Territory of Bizkaia. Our relocation services are also targeted at highly qualified professionals who are not researchers.
EURAXESS Service Centres are organisations offering mobility services at the local level, coming face to face with individual researchers. They can be universities, public research agencies or associations, among others.
The initiative is part of the EC efforts to promote mobility and career development among researchers, with the ultimate goal of transforming Europe into a leading area in terms of scientific excellence. EURAXESS network
Established on 1 June 2008, EURAXESS is a key tool to overcome mobility barriers: visas, work permits, degree validations, job vacancies, salaries, taxes, transfer of social benefits and pensions, healthcare, social security, accommodation, schooling, language learning, customs and traditions in the host country, research grants and positions, and so on.
EURAXESS is formed by nodes bridgeheads (state centres) agencies, as well as regional and local ones contact points. bizkaia:talent is one of the latter. The network comprises four main initiatives:
EURAXESS Jobs publishing information on job vacancies, financial aid and grants for researchers in Europe.
EURAXESS Services helping researchers and their families plan their trips to their destination in more than 200 centres in Europe.
EURAXESS Rights (The European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers), providing information on the rights and obligations in the research profession, social security or the scientific visa package.
EURAXESS Links a network to contact European researchers working outside the EU (Asean, Brazil, China, India, Japan and North America).
